ingredients:

For pizza dough:

1. 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) of active dry yeast

2. 1 cup warm water (110°F or 43°C)

3. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

4. 2 tablespoons olive oil

5. 1 teaspoon sugar

6. 1 teaspoon salt

For pizza sauce:

1. 1 can (14 ounces) of crushed tomatoes

2. 2 minced garlic cloves

3. 1 teaspoon dried oregano

4. 1 teaspoon dried basil

5. Salt and black pepper as desired

For extras:

1. 1 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

2. Your choice of toppings (such as pepperoni, sweet pepper, mushrooms, onions, olives, etc.)

directions:

Preparing pizza dough:

1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar and yeast. Leave for 5-10 minutes, or until the mixture becomes foamy.

2. In a larger bowl, mix the flour and salt. Create a well in the center.

3. Pour the yeast and olive oil mixture into the well. Gradually mix the ingredients together until a dough is formed.

4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

5. Place the dough in a bowl greased with a little oil, then cover it with a wet cloth or plastic wrap, and leave it to ferment in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in size.

Preparing pizza sauce:

1. In a pot, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and fry until fragrant.

2. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt and pepper. Simmer the sauce for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. When the sauce thickens, remove it from the heat and leave it aside to cool.

Assembling and baking pizza:

1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats up.

2. Make the risen pizza dough and divide it into two equal parts (for pizza).

3. Spread one portion of the dough on a floured surface to obtain the desired pizza shape and thickness.

4. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or inverted baking sheet dusted with cornmeal or flour to prevent sticking.

5. Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.

6. Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

7. Add your chosen toppings to the pizza.

8. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet covered with parchment paper.

9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is cooked and slightly browned.

10. Take the pizza out of the oven and let it cool for a minute before cutting it into slices. Enjoy your homemade pizza!
