Preparing the Chicken Marinade

2. Cut the chicken into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.

Cooking the Chicken

1. Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers if using a grill. If using a skillet, you can simply add the chicken directly.

4. Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.

Preparing the Shawarma Sauce

1. In a small bowl, combine the tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, plain yogurt, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

2. Add water gradually and stir until you achieve your desired sauce consistency. It should be smooth and pourable.

Assembling the Chicken Shawarma

1. Warm the pita bread or flatbreads.

2. Place a generous spoonful of the Shawarma sauce on each bread.

3. Add a portion of the grilled chicken on top of the sauce.

4. Layer on sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce.
